Achievement
As a 2022 cohort student in the Food Science and Technology Program at Universitas Sebelas Maret, I joined a research project under the supervision of Dr. Bara Yudhistira, focusing on the application of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) as a non-thermal food processing technology for coffee. Throughout the project, I was involved in planning and conducting experimental research, analyzing the physicochemical properties of coffee, evaluating energy consumption, and exploring potential consumer preferences. The research also challenged me to connect fundamental food science with emerging processing technologies and their potential industrial applications.
Through continuous guidance, attention to detail, and a strong focus on research targets, I successfully completed and defended my undergraduate thesis on 18 May 2026, after entering the program on 1 August 2022. This achievement made me the second-fastest graduate among the 2022 cohort of the Food Science and Technology Program. The research is currently being developed into a manuscript for submission to a Scopus-indexed journal, with a target of Q1 publication.
This experience taught me to approach scientific problems beyond their technical aspects by considering process efficiency, energy consumption, and potential consumer acceptance. More importantly, the research strengthened my discipline, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work toward defined targets while continuously learning through guidance and collaboration.
