Internship
Great Giant Foods (GGF) is an integrated food company operating across the agricultural and food value chain. Through Sunpride, GGF brings Indonesia-grown fresh fruits to consumers through an integrated supply chain supported by post-harvest handling, ripening, and distribution operations. I joined the internship through Sewu Segar Nusantara (Sunpride), a subsidiary of GGF and the brand behind Indonesian fresh fruit products.
In a high-volume fresh fruit operation, daily production activities involve multiple resources, including workers, ripening chambers, activities, SKUs, and shipment cycles. Variations in process time and resource utilization can create hidden operational costs. As a Project Support in the Production Department, my responsibility was to analyze operational activities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce daily operating costs.
I acted as Project Support in the Production Department with an estimated annual cost-reduction opportunity of 32+ million rupiah. I conducted a time-motion study applying lean manufacturing across 5 roles, 30 chambers, and 4 activities; consolidated 1,000+ operational data points across 25+ SKUs and 4 shipment cycles, generating 5+ insights; and evaluated 30 ripening chambers, 10+ operational workers, and 3 forklift shifts to uncover hidden operational costs.
